Disseminating research on transport poverty:conference contributions at ICSA DIAS

As representatives of the University of Tuscia and our research team, we had the privilege of participating in the International Conference on Sustainability Analysis (ICSA DIAS), which took place in Florence on January 10, 2025. At this prestigious event, we contributed to the academic dialogue by presenting two research papers dedicated to the pressing issue of transport poverty.

The first paper delved into the concept of transport affordability, examining methodologies for measurement and estimation within the Italian context. It highlighted key challenges and proposed frameworks for assessing how economic constraints impact access to mobility.

The second paper concentrated on the accessibility of public transport with a focus on cities, exploring the dimensions about services and territory that lead to a higher perception of quality of urban life in relation to transport.

This opportunity allowed us to engage with a network of experts and exchange ideas on advancing more equitable and sustainable mobility systems.

Our next steps will focus on finalizing the two papers presented at the conference, ensuring they are polished and ready for publication. Additionally, we aim to continue deepening our research on transport poverty, producing further studies to amplify the discussion, contributing more extensively to the academic and policy debate.

We hope to raise awareness and foster innovative solutions to address transport inequalities and promote sustainable, inclusive mobility.
